This art teaches the student how to defend themselves and control an aggressive attack using gentle moves with maximum results. It is a Jujutsu system which uses various body points to control an attacker without necessarily causing serious injury.
Women’s Self Defense Participants will learn basic self defense techniques that are simple, yet very effective in escaping a potentially harmful situation in everyday life. The skills learned, such as escaping from choking, grabbing, pulling and purse snatching, can all be applied to the real world ~with an emphasis on safety. Women of all ages and strengths are encouraged to attend.
| Kids Karate Program Ages 5 years to 15 years Although self defense is very important in our children’s karate program, a higher priority is the development of confidence, concentration, discipline and character. Regardless of age, karate develops balance, speed, strength and flexibility and overall development of athletic skill. Today’s students deal with many stresses that were not previously part of our world; personal safety, increasing expectation levels in education, computer age issues, developing a healthy lifestyle and building the strength and confidence to deal with peer pressure. Martial Arts training will give children, young adults and adults the tools to manage these everyday stresses while developing individual strength in body, mind and soul.
